Good response to property show in US
The second property show held in US in four locations drew encouraging response from US NRIs indicating a perceptible shift in trend among homebuyers. The show was inaugurated by Shri Chivukula, NJ assembly member.
Organised by Chennai based Priya Publications, publishers of real estate magazines, the 2-day show in each location was held in Sunnyvale, CA, Chicago, New Jersey and New York from September 18 to 28.
India's leading developers from cities like Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad and Nagpur and realtors from US exhibited a wide range of residential and commercial properties.
ICICI Bank, co-sponsor for the show, had exclusively offered pre-screen spot sanction of home loans on production of basic documents at the venues. In all, 150 NRIs had registered for home loans. Fifteen exhibitors generated a business volume estimated at Rs 40 crore during the show while others had committed sales in the coming months.
A lecture on NRI/foreigners investment in real estate was well attended during the show and investors' queries were clarified by experts. "The objective of the show is to provide US NRIs an in-depth survey about the current real estate scenario and help them in their home buying exercise", said V Nagarajan, editor and publisher of Indian Real Estate and organizer of the show.
